Yaxham F.C History

Yaxham Football Club has been in existence for over 100 Years and was recently presented with The FA 100 Years Club Award in 2021. We have always been a small village Club that has been run by volunteers to serve the local community and provide both physical exercise and the much enjoyed social side of the game. The Club currently operates four adult male teams, making it one of the largest football providers for adult males in the County.

The Football Club have played at various venues in Yaxham in the past, but with the development of the Village Hall and football pitch at Jubilee Park in 1987, the Club relocated to play their fixtures there. Jubilee Park is the home ground for all four of our Teams.

The Club currently have two teams competing in the Central & Norfolk Football League and two teams in the Norfolk Veterans League. To qualify as a Veterans player, you have to be aged 35 or over.

The Club has seen many successes over the years both on and off the pitch. On the pitch, the Club have amassed over 30 trophies, including two Norfolk Primary Cups in the early noughties. The most recent silverware came in the 2021/22 season when the First Team completed the League and Cup double. Off the pitch, the Club have been involved in many community projects and charity fundraising events. This has both helped the Club grow within its community as well as supporting the local public in a variety of aspects.

There are currently two life-presidents of the Football Club: Clive Meachen and Ralph Garner. Both of these men, and their families, have given so much to the Club over the years and have ensured its existence to this day. In recent seasons, the now Chairman, Martin Spillett, has been the lifeblood of the Club with the assistance of an ever-growing committee.
